To join God in the renewal of all things, we need healing, we need community, and we need imagination.

Artisan’s core purpose is to gather, nurture, and empower people to live the way of Jesus in all aspects of life–individually and collectively, in the Downtown Eastside and across the Lower Mainland.

How do we live out our purpose? Together we tend sacred spaces and practices. In these spaces and practices, we witness God’s work: Creator’s guidance, Jesus’ offer of belonging, and Spirit’s inspiration.

Healing, community, and imagination equip us with the resilience, connection, and hope needed to follow Jesus here and now.

We value curiosity, presence, and humility, trusting that wisdom is found in community and through attentive listening to God.

Belonging to the worldwide church and Christian tradition, we embrace intentional creativity, various ways of knowing, and fresh approaches to produce joyful and meaningful expressions of faith.

We minister with an awareness of trauma and hurt, walking alongside each other to reframe challenges with hope and leaning on trusted networks of care.
