Ancient Wisdom

Many things feel wobbly right now: from tenancy or house ownership to the global world order, from social supports and grocery bills to the future of our planet. There is so much to know and so much we can’t know. We need advice for living well in this wobbly world. In the midst of the overwhelm, Creator’s wisdom is one of our nutrients that nourishes our roots of faith. This January we’re starting a conversation on Proverbs and about the wisdom we find woven into our everyday lives. The book of Proverbs speaks about Lady Wisdom. Picture this: in the midst of a busy city square, Lady Wisdom stands still, grounded, and simple, persistent in her call to passersby. In this series, we will look at the practical wisdom we have inherited from Proverbs. And we expect it will be steadying as we see the way Creator’s wisdom persists, how wisdom can be grown through devotion, the wisdom already held by this community, and the different kinds of wisdom scripture values.
